Tom Stenley

Woodworker and handyman

I’ve been in the home remodeling business for 40 years as a carpenter, drywall installer, and cabinetmaker.  I’ve renovated two houses and turned a 1800s bank barn into a modern residence.  I can build just about anything, including cabinetry for a client who turned a bus into a tiny home.  In addition to all types of cabinets and furniture, I’ve also built brick and stone walls and metal banisters and railings.

I enjoy working with used, natural materials I can make into something new, particularly antique chestnut, pine, and oak, because of their solid, unique, and timeless beauty (see Woods).  An avid picker,  I also like upcycling flea market finds into stylish pieces of furniture and works of art (see Metals).

With an eye to design, I can help you realize your dream project without breaking the bank.  In our world of obsolescence, sometimes all that’s really needed is a good repair.  I can help with those, too, whether it’s drywall, molding, cabinets, or furniture.  Estimates are typically free.

Shaker-style cabinets from reclaimed chestnut

Reclaimed chestnut kitchen

The kitchen at the top features raised-panel doors and was made of reclaimed pine.  The cabinets were made with wood salvaged from the original house on my property.

The kitchen to the left is made of reclaimed chestnut with shaker-style doors.

Crown molding is standard on all my projects because it completes the look.
